Xbox Missed the Wuthering Waves Edgerunners Collab by a Day
Xbox launched Wuthering Waves on July 10, one day after the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Lucy and Rebecca banners closed, while Night City remained.
Wuthering Waves reached Xbox Series X|S on July 10, 2026, one day after the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners banners for Lucy and Rebecca closed. Kuro Games had spent May selling Night City as the console hook. Xbox players loaded Version 3.5 instead.
Instant Flashlight, the free Rebecca claim for anyone with a Union Level above 10, ended at 11:59 server time on July 9. The Microsoft Store opened the next morning.
Xbox Arrived After the Instant Flashlight Window
Kuro locked the collab to Version 3.4, “The Dream Not Dreamed,” on May 29, 2026. The patch went live on June 8. Collaboration Resonator Convenes for Lucy and Rebecca ran through July 9 at 11:59 server time, the same cutoff printed on the weapon banners for Spectral Trigger and Skull Thrasher.
Xbox was never inside that window. Kuro had said in March the Series X|S build would arrive in July, then pinned the day to July 10 (UTC+8) during the Version 3.5 preview, alongside a Microsoft Store PC listing and Xbox Play Anywhere. That is 1 day after Lucy’s convene closed.
Xbox’s own June trailer for the console launch drew a simple complaint: it was selling a crossover the storefront would miss. The official account still posted the July 10 date with a Game Pass sigil attached, not a netrunner.

THE JULY CALENDAR
- May 29, 2026: Kuro airs the Version 3.4 special broadcast and names Lucy, Rebecca, and Somnoire: Night City.
- June 8, 2026: Version 3.4 goes live (UTC+8). Instant Flashlight and both collab convenes open.
- July 9, 2026: Collab banners, Instant Flashlight, Night City Roaming, and Sweetdream Tuning close at 11:59 server time.
- July 10, 2026: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud, and the Microsoft Store client launch with Version 3.5.
From June 8 through July 9 the patch ran 32 days, shorter than Kuro’s usual cycle, and every collab reward sat inside it. New Xbox accounts never saw that clock.
What Lucy, Rebecca, and Night City Added
This was Kuro’s first major outside-IP crossover in Wuthering Waves, built with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners rather than as a costume pack. Steam’s own patch post put Lucy on Spectro pistols and Rebecca on Electro pistols, both 5-star Resonators, and pointed players at the Version 3.4 collab content list for the rest of the drop.
The story piece is Chapter III Side Story “At Dream’s Edge,” a permanent episodic quest Kuro billed as an official follow-up to Lucy’s path after the anime ended. Rover meets Lucy and Rebecca after they cross from another world during a disturbance in Somnoire. The new zone, Somnoire: Night City, is built from Lucy’s memories, with Nightmare: Adam Smasher and corporate Nightmare variants waiting inside.
THE 3.4 COLLAB ROSTER
| Piece | Role in 3.4 | After July 9 |
|---|---|---|
| Lucy | 5-star Spectro pistols, Dreaming Upon the Moon convene | Banner closed; Kuro listed her as exclusive to that convene |
| Rebecca | 5-star Electro pistols, Instant Flashlight plus her own convene | Free claim closed with the patch |
| Spectral Trigger / Skull Thrasher | Collab 5-star pistols | Weapon convenes closed the same night |
| Somnoire: Night City | New area from Lucy’s memories | Stays on the map |
| At Dream’s Edge | Chapter III side story | Permanent episodic quest |
| Reminiscence – Nightmare: Adam Smasher | Collab Echo, Shadow of Shattered Dreams sonata | Still in the Echo pool |
Kuro also dropped “I Really Want to Stay at Your House” onto the Heart Radio Channel and the Archive of Melodies, plus a collab sigil titled Where Did Your Love Go? and the title Legend Smasher. Those sit next to WavesLine cosmetics for David Martinez. The combat events around them, Night City Roaming, Matrix Reform, and Sweetdream Tuning, died with the patch.
Dreamcatcher Tides Kept Collab Pity Separate
Lucy did not sit on the usual limited banner. Her convene, Dreaming Upon the Moon, used Dreamcatcher Tides, a collab currency you earned from events, bought in the shop, or swapped from Astrite. Rebecca’s banner, Rekindled Cinders of Rage, used the same pool. Rate-up 4-stars on Lucy’s side were Lumi, Youhu, and Taoqi.
Kuro’s convene notice said featured Lucy was exclusive to that event and would not be available by other means once it ended. It also said her Waveband would not land in Item Exchange. That is the licensing wall talking. Collab units do not share Kuro’s normal rerun calendar, and the studio did not promise one.
Rebecca was the pressure valve. Instant Flashlight gave a full 5-star copy to any Rover above Union Level 10, with no pulls attached. Her convene still existed for sequences, which is why some players spent Dreamcatcher Tides on her anyway. Most of the room did not. The free copy was the event. A separate 10-day login, Gifts of Dreamchasers, fed extra tides and a Dream’s Edge avatar through the same window.
The rest of 3.4 still ran a normal limited schedule on top of that closed economy. Lucilla, a 5-star Glacio rectifier, opened June 13 on Tomorrow in the Frame. Cartethyia’s rerun, Dance in the Storm’s Wake, opened June 18. Both used regular limited pulls, not Dreamcatcher Tides, and both also ended July 9. Anyone chasing Lucy and a home-roster 5-star had to fund two pity counters at once on a short patch.
Somnoire Night City Is Still on the Map
The part Xbox did inherit is the place. Night City in Wuthering Waves is a Somnoire instance, a self-contained zone rather than a new open-world continent, and Kuro left it up after the banners died. Finish At Dream’s Edge and you can go back. Early access during 3.4 ran through a “Next Stop: Night City” event once you hit the transport dock in the main quest What Burns Beneath Frostlands. After you clear Beneath a Melting Night Sky, the side story accepts itself.
This is a place where dreams overlap with reality, where violence and conflict keep fortunes flowing. Here, everything is up for grabs, provided you can pay the price. Welcome to Night City.
Kuro Games, Version 3.4 announcement
That copy is still the brief for the zone. New Xbox accounts can walk it. They can fight Nightmare: Adam Smasher, pick up the Shadow of Shattered Dreams piece, and ride around with the Edgerunners track on the radio. They cannot open Dreaming Upon the Moon.
WHAT STAYED IN THE GAME
- The quest: At Dream’s Edge remains a permanent Chapter III side story, including Kuro’s billed follow-up to Lucy’s journey after Edgerunners.
- The zone: Somnoire: Night City stays reachable after the side story, with the corpo Nightmare pack still spawning there.
- The song: “I Really Want to Stay at Your House” remains on Heart Radio and in the Archive of Melodies.
- The Echo: Reminiscence – Nightmare: Adam Smasher and the 1-piece Shadow of Shattered Dreams sonata stay in regular progression.
Official character posts had already given Lucy the line “Don’t make a name for yourself by how you live… but by how you die,” and Rebecca “C’mon, need to hit somethin’!” Those lines still play on accounts that pulled during 3.4. On a fresh Xbox save they are flavor for a map you can tour without the Resonators the trailer put in front of it.
June’s $34 Million Came With a 49,485 Peak
On PC and phones the crossover did the job Kuro hired it to do. Tracker GachaRevenue put Wuthering Waves at about $34 million in June 2026 mobile revenue, second among gacha games that month, ahead of Genshin Impact at $32.33 million and Honkai: Star Rail at $28.46 million. Love and Deepspace still led the board at $38.38 million. The figures are SensorTower-based estimates and omit PC and console cash, so the real June total sits higher.
JUNE 2026 SNAPSHOT
- Mobile haul: About $34 million, second among gacha games, with Genshin Impact at $32.33 million on the same sheet.
- Steam peak: 49,485 concurrent players in June, the title’s all-time high on Steam Charts.
- Steam average: 18,426.40 average concurrent in June, then 15,094.53 in July as 3.4 ended and 3.5 began.
- Day-one shops: GachaRevenue’s first-day mobile ranks showed South Korea 3rd and Hong Kong 3rd, with Japan 10th and China 20th.
That split is the collab in miniature. Steam jumped to an all-time peak of 49,485 after June 8, and the Japanese store chart put Wuthering Waves at number 1 the next morning. Mobile spend on day one was solid in Korea and only average in Japan and China, below Kuro’s heavier home banners. GachaRevenue called the launch a player-acquisition win with a milder cash spike, which matches a patch that gave a 5-star away and isolated Lucy on a special currency.
July’s Steam average then fell as the convenes closed and Version 3.5, “Blade of Past Resounds, Lingering Dream Hymns,” took over the same week Xbox arrived. The collab’s Steam crowd did not wait around for a console client that missed the banners.
Paths and Possibilities Replaced the Missed Convene
Xbox players were not locked out of Wuthering Waves. They were locked out of Lucy. The Series X|S, Series S, Xbox Cloud, and PC Microsoft Store builds are the same live game, with progress shared across PC, Android, iOS, Xbox, and PlayStation 5 on one server. A Rover who already claimed Rebecca on phone can sit down on the console and keep her. A brand-new Xbox account cannot open Instant Flashlight.
Kuro spent the spring tying that console date to Night City, the same beat as the July Xbox Night City launch messaging, then shipped 3.5 on July 10. Wuthering Waves on the Microsoft Store is free to download with or without a subscription. Game Pass is a perk layer, not the price of entry.
Megan Spurr, senior community lead for Xbox Game Pass, listed those perks in the July 7 Wave 1 post among the Game Pass in-game rewards for July. They apply on Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, Essential, and PC Game Pass.
GAME PASS LAUNCH PACK
- Each version: Morphable Echo x2, Premium Tuner x10, and 30,000 Shell Credit, claimed after a version update while the subscription is active.
- One-time sigil: Paths and Possibilities, exclusive to Game Pass accounts, kept after you claim it.
- Where it lands: In-game mail once a Microsoft account is linked to the Kuro account.
That is a real bundle. It is also not Lucy, and it is not the free 5-star Kuro advertised through all of June. In early September, Xbox players were still asking the developer to reopen Instant Flashlight for the console launch they missed. Kuro has not posted that reopen. Night City still loads. Dreaming Upon the Moon does not.
Frequently Asked Questions
When Did the Wuthering Waves Cyberpunk Collab Run?
Version 3.4 went live at 11:00 a.m. UTC+8 on June 8, 2026, after a June 7 maintenance window that paid 300 Astrite and two Crystal Solvents. Both collab convenes, Instant Flashlight, and Night City Roaming then ran until 11:59 server time on July 9, 2026, a 32-day patch that also carried Lucilla from June 13 and a Cartethyia rerun from June 18.
Can New Xbox Players Still Enter Night City?
Yes. Somnoire: Night City and At Dream’s Edge are permanent. On a new account you reach the transport dock during the main quest What Burns Beneath Frostlands, then the side story auto-accepts after Beneath a Melting Night Sky, after which the zone stays open with Nightmare: Adam Smasher and the corpo variants still in the instance.
What Did Game Pass Give Wuthering Waves Players?
Subscribers on Ultimate, Premium, Essential, and PC Game Pass get a one-time Paths and Possibilities sigil plus a per-version mail of Morphable Echo x2, Premium Tuner x10, and 30,000 Shell Credit. Kuro’s Xbox notes say the repeating pack must be claimed before the current version ends or that cycle is skipped, and progress does not copy between different servers such as Asia and Europe.
Can You Still Pull Lucy After Version 3.4?
Not through any live convene Kuro has posted. Dreaming Upon the Moon closed July 9, 2026, the notice said Lucy would not be available by other means once that event ended, and her Waveband was kept out of Item Exchange, which is why the studio has not listed a rerun date.
Did Xbox Get Cross-Save With Phone and PlayStation 5?
On the same server, yes. Kuro’s Xbox launch FAQ says a linked Microsoft account shares that server’s progress across PC, Android, iOS, Xbox, and PlayStation 5, including Xbox Play Anywhere between console and the Microsoft Store PC client, while Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe, America, and HMT remain separate worlds.
