Two Skin Pack Pages Leaked Halo Campaign Evolved

Microsoft Store pages for two Halo: Campaign Evolved armory packs showed space combat, Johnson, and Cortana a day before the Xbox Games Showcase named them.

Two Microsoft Store pages for Halo: Campaign Evolved cosmetic packs went live on June 5, 2026, and showed space combat the original game never had. The Alpha Halo Armory Pack and Foundry Armory Pack listings were pulled on June 6, with the Xbox Games Showcase still a day away.

Those pages were skin catalogs. They also carried the first public stills of a rebuilt Silent Cartographer beach, a new Sergeant Johnson, a redesigned Cortana, and a fighter in open space.

Two Cosmetic Listings Went Live First

The Halo tracker who posts as grunt.api flagged a buy page, a hidden service record, and four new add-ons on Halo Waypoint and the Store on June 5, 2026. By the next afternoon the stills had moved off the product pages and onto fan feeds, and Microsoft took the listings down before Summer Games Fest wrapped.

Nobody from Halo Studios posted a correction. The next day’s Showcase simply named the footage, dated the game, and opened pre-orders. The leak vehicle was never a trailer file. It was checkout art for two armory packs that still sit in the Microsoft Store and on Steam.

THE WEEK THE STORE TALKED FIRST

  1. June 5, 2026: Four new add-ons and a hidden buy page appear; grunt.api points at the Store listings.
  2. June 6, 2026: Screenshots from the Alpha Halo Armory Pack and Foundry Armory Pack circulate, then the pages come down.
  3. June 7, 2026: The Xbox Games Showcase dates the remake and names the new missions Operation: METEORITE.
  4. July 23, 2026: Premium and Collector owners get early access at 8 AM PDT.
  5. July 28, 2026: The game launches at 8 AM PDT, and the Foundry pre-order window closes at 7:59 AM PDT.

Combat Evolved turned 25 in 2026. Halo Studios rebuilt the 2001 campaign in Unreal Engine 5 for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5, with day-one access on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The Store did not wait for that speech.

What the Microsoft Store Pages Showed

The pulled stills were not mystery concept art. Fans matched island geometry to The Silent Cartographer, the fourth mission in the 2001 campaign, and matched faces to Johnson and Cortana, neither of whom had been shown in-game at this fidelity. One frame put a combat craft in a fight outside the atmosphere, a setup Combat Evolved never staged.

STILLS THAT LEFT THE STORE

  • The island: An updated Silent Cartographer beach, with Pelicans, a Warthog drop, and Covenant on the sand.
  • The sergeant: Avery Johnson in the rebuilt campaign, later the narrator of the new-mission trailer.
  • The AI: A full redesign of Cortana, shown as a character model rather than a hologram thumbnail.
  • The fighter: A craft in a large space battle, later confirmed as a flyable Seraph.
  • The extras: Brutes in the campaign, a Ghost hijack that Combat Evolved never allowed, and Classic 2001 Mark V armor as a skin.

The same galleries advertised armor and gun skins, including a pink crystal look for Chief and a one-to-one 2001 Mark V. That mix is why the leak felt like a press kit wearing a DLC tag. A campaign remake’s first new images arrived attached to checkout pages, so the conversation started on editions and cosmetics, then moved to the Seraph.

Space Combat That Combat Evolved Never Had

Combat Evolved kept you on the ring, in corridors, and in a Warthog. Reach later borrowed a slice of space flight, and that is the comparison people reached for when the Store frame hit. Halo Studios put the missing piece in three new prequel missions, not in a remix of The Maw.

Brian Jarrard, community director at Halo Studios, tied that footage to the Showcase trailer the next day. He said the new arc sends Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson onto a Covenant research vessel a year before the first game, in a smash-and-grab that goes wrong.

In today’s trailer, you’ll get a glimpse at what that means in action: fighting alongside UNSC forces, pushing through Covenant-controlled spaces, facing new threats like the Brute Berserker, and even bringing the fight into space.

Brian Jarrard, Community Director, Halo Studios, Xbox Games Showcase 2026 post

Halo Studios billed the Operation METEORITE three-mission adventure as content in every edition, not a Deluxe-only campaign. Johnson’s trailer line does the same work the Store did: he tells you the Halo story you know, then says that is not the one he is telling.

The official clip puts Chief in a Seraph beside a Covenant hull, which is the shot the Store already leaked. After launch, that sequence is the one players keep testing. Clips of a Seraph spawn with no ship, and of people shoving the space sandbox past the mission’s rails, treat the leak’s surprise as a toy rather than a trailer beat.

Halo Studios Priced the Remake in Three Tiers

Jarrard’s Showcase note also locked the July 28 launch and three editions. Standard is $49.99. Premium is $69.99. The Collector’s Edition listed at $199.99. The $20 gap is the Premium Edition Upgrade, which is how Game Pass players buy the extra skins without buying the campaign twice.

All three SKUs include the 10 rebuilt missions plus Operation: METEORITE. The Store leak had already named the two cosmetic bundles that separate them. Halo Support’s breakdown of Standard, Premium, and Collector prices is the same ladder the pulled pages previewed.

WHAT EACH EDITION ADDS

Edition Price (USD) Armory packs Early access
Standard $49.99 Foundry, if pre-ordered No
Premium $69.99 Foundry (pre-order) plus Alpha Halo Yes, from July 23, 2026
Collector’s $199.99 Foundry (pre-order) plus Alpha Halo Yes, from July 23, 2026

The Foundry Armory Pack is the pre-order bundle: Classic 2001 Mark V Flawless Cowboy Skin, Gilded Onyx Armor Skin, Gilded Onyx Assault Rifle Skin, and Classic 2001 Flawless AR Skin. The Alpha Halo Armory Pack is the Premium step, with five armor skins (Splintered Warden, Lochagos, Mobile Armor Type 117, Gestalt, Timberwolf) and six weapon skins, including the Cold Iron: Keyes magnum and a Subanese Fang energy sword.

The live Alpha Halo Armory Pack listing is the descendant of the page that leaked. Premium also adds the Digital Story & Art Collection: an artbook, a digital manual, and Halo: Hungry Buzzards, a short story by Troy Denning that leads into METEORITE. Digital copies are Xbox Play Anywhere titles. Physical discs, including Collector’s, stay on the box they shipped for.

Sergeant Johnson and Cortana Appear Early

The leak’s character stills mattered because Halo Studios had kept both faces in trailers and roundtables, not in gameplay lighting. Johnson is in the METEORITE missions as a partner, then back in the rebuilt Pillar of Autumn briefing. Cortana’s new model is the companion for the 10-mission campaign, rebuilt with new animation and re-recorded lines.

The Silent Cartographer stills did similar work for the remake claim. That island is the mission people cite when they argue Combat Evolved still plays, and the Store showed it with modern water, sand, and Covenant silhouettes before the studio posted a third-person pass using the Perspective Skull. The original 10 missions remain the spine. METEORITE sits in front of them, which is how Brutes and a Seraph enter a Combat Evolved remake without rewriting The Library.

The campaign also adds 9 weapons from later Halo games, vehicle hijacking, a drivable Wraith, 2-player splitscreen on console, and 4-player online co-op with cross-play. Those systems are why a skin pack could show a Ghost yank and an energy sword in a game whose 2001 build had neither.

By the time the game shipped, the leak matched the official reveal on the Seraph fight, Johnson’s role, and the rebuilt island. The Showcase added a date and a mission name. It did not invent the images.

The Same Packs Turn Into Launch Tickets

On July 28, 2026, Halo Support had to tell Steam Standard pre-orders to open Properties, then DLC, then tick Foundry Armory Pack. The bundle that spoiled the Showcase was a checkbox on launch day.

Boxed buyers ran into a different version of the same problem, posting that the Foundry code was missing from the carton. Halo Support’s customization guide says the packs unlock from add-ons that have to be installed, and that a Get Now button in the Armor or Weapons menu sends you to the Premium Edition Upgrade rather than to a $2 skin. Items are not sold one by one.

Purchased cosmetics also stay on the store that sold them. An Xbox buy does not follow you to PlayStation or Steam. Xbox, the Xbox app on PC, and the Microsoft Store share the same Microsoft account under Play Anywhere. Promo codes and Twitch Drops redeemed on Halo Waypoint are the exception, and those sync across linked platforms.

The Collector’s Edition, the $199.99 box with a 12-inch Dark Horse Master Chief statue and an LED Cortana chip, is listed as sold out with no restock. That SKU is the far end of the ladder the June pages already implied: a campaign remake sold with armory packs, early access, and a statue, not as a single $50 disc with a bonus map.

The Store listing that Xbox yanked on June 6, 2026, was the honest trailer. It showed a Seraph, a new Johnson, a new Cortana, and two skin packs. The Showcase the next morning put a date on the same product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Halo Campaign Evolved Armor Skins Sold Separately?

No. Halo Support says customization items are not sold individually. In-game, Get Now on an Alpha Halo skin sends you to the $20 Premium Edition Upgrade (or, on PlayStation, a discounted Premium Edition equal to the Standard-to-Premium gap), which unlocks the full five-armor, six-weapon pack at once.

Do Campaign Evolved Cosmetics Transfer Across Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam?

Purchased skins stay on the platform account that bought them, so Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam do not share those unlocks. Digital Xbox, Xbox app, and Microsoft Store copies do share cosmetics under Xbox Play Anywhere when you use the same Microsoft account. Waypoint-redeemed Twitch Drops and promo codes sync across every platform linked to that account.

Does Xbox Game Pass Include the Alpha Halo Armory Pack?

Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass include the base campaign on day one, which is the 10 remade missions plus Operation: METEORITE, not the Alpha pack. The Alpha Halo Armory Pack, artbook, short story, and digital manual require the $20 Premium Edition Upgrade. Game Pass Essential and Premium tiers do not include the base game, so the upgrade cannot grant early access on those plans.

Is the Halo Campaign Evolved Collector’s Edition Still Available?

Halo Support says the Collector’s Edition is officially sold out and that there are no plans for a restock. It listed at $199.99 and bundled Premium digital extras with a SteelBook, three 11×17 prints, a physical manual, a game disc on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 (Steam got a code), plus the statue and Cortana chip.

What Time Did Halo Campaign Evolved Launch Worldwide?

Halo Studios set a single global clock: July 28, 2026, at 8 AM PDT, which is July 29 in Japan and select Asia-Pacific markets. Early access for Premium and Collector owners used the same 8 AM PDT clock on July 23, 2026 (July 24 in those Asia-Pacific markets).

Every figure is checked against its source before publication, and a public corrections policy explains how mistakes are fixed and labelled.
