Who we are looking for

We are after writers who know this space and can turn that knowledge into clear, practical, accurate content.

You might be a long-time Windows enthusiast, an IT professional with hands-on experience, or simply someone who is great at explaining technology to everyday people. Job titles matter far less to us than the ability to help a reader solve a problem.

Above all, we look for people who care about getting it right and who write for the reader, not for themselves.

What we publish

Our focus is squarely on Windows and the wider Microsoft ecosystem.

That covers news, how-to guides, tutorials, fixes, tips, and reviews across Windows, Microsoft 365, Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Azure, Xbox on PC, and the broader world of software and tools.

If you have an idea that helps our readers get more out of these products, whether it is a clever fix, a deep-dive guide, or a sharp take on a new feature, it could be a great fit.

What makes a strong contribution

The pieces that work best for us tend to share a few qualities.

• Original work that has not been published anywhere else.
• Clear, plain language with no fluff, padding, or filler.
• Accurate, tested steps, especially for guides and fixes, so readers can trust what they follow.
• A real understanding of both the topic and what the reader needs.

If your work checks those boxes, you are exactly the kind of writer we want to work with.

How to pitch us

Rather than sending a finished article, start with a short pitch. It saves everyone time and helps us shape the idea together.

Email support@winaddons.com and include:

• A working title and a few sentences explaining your idea.
• Why it matters to our readers, and what they will take away from it.
• A link to one or two writing samples, if you have them.

If your idea is a good fit, we will get back to you with the next steps and share our writing guidelines so you know exactly what we are looking for.

What we are not looking for

To save you the effort, here is what will not land with us.

We are not interested in thinly disguised advertising, articles written purely to slip in a link, or content spun up at speed with no real value. If the main goal is a backlink rather than helping the reader, it is not for us.

We hold contributor work to the same standards as our own, which you can read about in our Editorial Policy and Ethics and Standards page.

A few things to keep in mind

We read every pitch that comes in, but we cannot always reply to each one, so please be patient with us.

We are looking for helpful, reader-first content, not promotion in disguise, and quality always wins over quantity here.

If we do not take up your idea, it is not personal. It often comes down to fit, timing, or what we already have planned.
